BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING

BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING

Four year old Bunny Lake is the missing person in this combination whodunit and psychological thriller filmed in London in black and white, exploring the theme of illusion-in-reality. Preminger's masterfully fluid camera deploys the widescreen to frame the characters objectively; tension comes from the discrepancy in various points of view, centrally that of Newhouse, the detective on the case (Laurence Olivier), and a strong supporting cast of British character actors including Noel Coward and Martita Hunt.
