Long suppressed by the evil Harvey Weinstein, Snowpiercer is finally free. The story is set in a future where an unsuccessful global-warming experiment has killed off almost all life on Earth and the only survivors are the people who have managed to get on board of the “Snowpiercer,” a train that travels what remains of the frozen world. In the newly afflicted world, class war plays out where the front carriages of the train are reserved for the elite. Chris Evans and a frenzied Tilda Swinton star in this unpredictable, imaginative film from Bong Joon-ho (Okja, The Host, Memories of Murder). Bong Joon-ho employs his characteristic humorous touch (which is quite unusual in a post-apocalyptic, big-budget films but works wonderfully) and provokes the audience with strong physical sensations which provide an immersive feel for this unforgiving world.
