Days of Heaven

Days of Heaven

Shot exclusively in the golden hours of daylight, a young couple (Richard Gere and Brook Adams) escape the oppression of the city only to become entangled in a complex arrangement with their landowner employer (Sam Shepherd). Underrated on its release, its painterly quality and homage to American Romanticism saw Roger Ebert describe it as one of the most beautiful films ever made.
