The act of surreal filmmaking does not exist to purely shock and puzzle, but to question, to utilise the art as an exploration of the subconscious in a way which undermines the reality we seem to experience. But their destruction is joyful, teeming with possibility for new life, and each of these films are comic visitations of strange and perverse imagery, understood by their inability to be understood.
