Coffee and cigarettes

Coffee and cigarettes

Often described as 11 vignettes disguised as a feature film, Coffee and Cigarettes showcases the most frequent byproduct of the two vices: conversations in signature minimalist, deadpan Jarmuschian-style. Iggy Pop and Tom Waits have cigarettes to celebrate quitting smoking (which was originally shot as a short film that won the 1993 Cannes Short Film Palme d'Or), Cate Blanchette plays both herself and her envious cousin, and RZA and GZA are served midnight coffee by Bill Murray.
