Dirty pretty things

Steven Knight’s first screenplay, Dirty Pretty Things, is a tale of economic injustice and underworld corruption among London's illegal immigrant community for which Knight was nominated for an Academy award for Best Screenplay. Undocumented immigrants Okwe (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Senay Gelik (Audrey Tautou) work at a posh London hotel and live in constant fear of deportation. One night, Okwe stumbles across evidence of a bizarre murder, setting off a series of events that could lead to disaster — or freedom.
