Lord of the flies

Lord of the flies

Based on the novel by William Golding, Lord of the Flies follows a handful of school boys, who become stranded on a remote island after an airplane crash. Left to their own wits and resources to subsist on the island, their initial cooperative spirit rapidly degenerates: first into revelry, which causes them to ignore the maintenance of the signal fire they had lit to attract help, and later into savagery. The quick descent to barbaric ways illuminates how beneath the thin veneer of civilized interaction is the primal beast. Nominated for a Palme d’Or, the film remains an highly regarded classic work of cinema.
