MOGAMBO

MOGAMBO

Deep in the African interior, a married couple hire a big game hunter (Clark Gable) to lead them on a safari. As they journey forth, the wife (Grace Kelly) and the guide develop feelings for each other amidst a net of petty jealousies. Filmed mostly on location in Africa and blessed by Ford’s natural eye for landscape, the movie is unusual for its use of recorded regional music as well as the balance of youth and worldliness that shines from Kelly’s character as she struggles against her attraction to the hunter.
