Mystery train

Mystery train

Jarmusch’s first foray using colour, Mystery Train is a series of three entwining narratives exploring the crumbling, decaying edges of Memphis through the eyes of foreigners: Japanese teenagers, an Italian widow and a British punk. Intriguing characters and a starring role by Joe Strummer of the Clash make this a must see for any indie-fan. The second greatest film of Jim's early years, Mystery Train, provides a crossroads in his filmmaking style. Blending elements of his long-standing minimalistic approach with color and more intricate plot lines gives the viewer a taste of two sides of Jarmusch.
