STRAY DOG

STRAY DOG

Thu 24 Sep, 7pm

It’s a simple enough plot: a rookie cop has his revolver stolen. But in the hands of Japanese master director Akira Kurosawa, it becomes a tour de force of artful filmmaking. Character driven and massively atmospheric, the almost documentary realism of Tokyo in summer meltdown, the minutiae of sweating brows, panting dogs and the downpour that never comes, serves to ramp up the tension to a deliciously extreme degree.
