Like unravelling a tangled knot, a group of police and officials wind through bare rolling hills in the Turkish countryside, accompanying two prisoners leading them to the location of a murdered body. Contemplative and well considered, the film is absorbing as it rolls to a thought-provoking conclusion.
“A major film from a major director…I love this film” David Stratton, 4.5 stars.
WINNER: Best Grand Jury Prize, Cannes 2011.
