Feast Festival & Mercury Cinema invite you to BEAT the summer blues with a stranger by the lake and a drink at the opening of the Mercury Cinema’s Summer Scoops Film Festival.

Enjoy a G&T on arrival and other refreshments followed by the SA theatrical premiere of the much anticipated Stranger By The Lake (R18+), winner of the Cannes Film Festival Un Certain Regard Best Director and Queer Palm prizes (ie this is a really good film not to be missed!).

Stranger by the Lake is a riveting murder-drama set at a gay cruising area beside a picturesque French lake in summer. The very handsome Franck visits the lake everyday – he strikes up an unlikely friendship with a lonely divorcé and he falls for the sexy Michel. Franck witnesses a murder and finds himself grappling with lust versus personal safety (and possibly morality). Contained within the shores of the lake and nearby bushland, the film has been labelled ‘controversial’ by some with its scenes of extensive male nudity and gay sex.

Warning: this film contains lots of full frontal male nudity and graphic depictions of actual sex – strictly R18+.

When: Wednesday 15 January, 6.30pm for 7pm screening, Where: Mercury Cinema, 13 Morphett Street, Adelaide, Tickets: $25 full/ $20 conc. Available at the drop-down menu on this page.
